Murray and Djokovic fend off Davis and Adlington
Andy Murray's history-making triumph at Wimbledon still has the highest live overnight audience, despite I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! attracting record ratings on Sunday night.
Murray became the first British man in 77 years to lift the trophy at Wimbledon when he defeated Novak Djokovic in the final on Centre Court in July.
An audience of approximately 12.09 million tuned in to watch Murray win his second grand slam, and that remains the highest live overnight figure of the year so far, with I'm A Celebrity pulling in 11.9m viewers, which according to the Independent beat the ITV show's previous opening record of 11.7m two years ago.
Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington and six-time snooker world champion Steve Davis are the sporting stars amongst the celebrities in the jungle this year.
