Andy Murray is on the road to recovery following back surgery, posting the first pictures of him practising on court in Miami on Facebook.

The Wimbledon champion has not played since helping the British Davis Cup team book their spot in the World Group following his fourth round exit at the US Open, after which he opted to undergo an exploratory operation for a chronic back problem.

The surgery ended his season, and while Murray has refused to target the Australian Open for his comeback in recent weeks, the signs are promising for his return at the first grand slam of the 2014 season.

The world No. 4 posted the photograph of him in action with a new racquet on his Facebook page, together with the caption: "Sun is shining, back on the courts, today is a good day..."

Murray has said he will enter January's Australian Open only if he feels fit enough to win it.
