Sam Querrey battled back from a set down to overpower Germany's Rainer Schuettler and book a meeting with Mardy Fish in the final of the AEGON Championships at Queen's Club.

The American seventh seed was not at his best but his power game clicked at just the right time to ensure a path into his fourth final of the year.

After Schuettler edged an epic first set tiebreak 11-9, Querrey had his serve to thank as he gradually wore down his 34-year-old opponent with some booming forehands and relentless aggression.

In the second set, the 22-year-old broke late on to take it 7-5 before earning a second successive break early in the final set to lay the foundations for his win. Querrey was always in control and, although a little wild at times, his attacking instinct saw him home and he closed out the match with a textbook cross-court backhand winner.

"It was a tough one out there and I'm glad to get through it. I just wanted to come out here and play well, you can't really control the outcome of other matches but I've never seen so many upsets as this week," he told BBC Sport.

In the other semi-final, Mardy Fish eased past Feliciano Lopez 6-3 6-4 to set up an all-American final on Sunday.

Fish, who dumped out Murray earlier in the week, continued his impressive form with another fine display against the Spaniard. He secured single breaks in each set and, while Lopez didn't play badly, Fish was the more assured on the grass and comfortably came through.

"It feels good to be out here, I love this tournament, I grew up watching it on TV and desperately wanted to play real well," said Fish.

And the 28-year-old was quick to turn his attentions to Sunday's final, where he will meet a friend and compatriot in Querrey.

"It's going to be business as usual but afterwards we'll go out to dinner and the winner pays," he said.
