Bogdanovic two wins from Wimbledon qualification

British No. 2 Alex Bogdanovic took his first step towards qualification for the main draw at Wimbledon.
Having played at the All England Club for the last eight years, Bogdanovic was overlooked for a wildcard this year, and forced to earn his place at the qualifying event at Roehampton.
The world No. 161 will now meet former Queen's finalist Nicolas Mahut in the second round of qualifying after beating Brazil's Ricardo Hocevar 6-3 7-6(3).
Josh Goodall will face Russian Evgeny Kirillov after dispatching Spain's Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 6-4, while Dan Evans fought back from a set down to beat American Tim Smyczek 4-6 6-1 12-10. Evans will now meet world No. 155 Ricardas Berankis, who beat him in Britain's Davis Cup defeat to Lithuania in March.
Chris Eaton, who captured the British public's imagination when he reached the second round in 2008, failed to qualify after losing 4-6 6-3 10-8 to Roko Karanusic.
Morgan Phillips, Daniel Cox, David Rice, Josh Milton and Alex Ward also exited at the first qualifying stage, while Dan Smethurst was forced to retire with a stomach injury after losing the first set 6-0 to Ryler Deheart.
