Murray eyes Wimbledon glory
Andy Murray believes he can shrug off his poor form and end Britain's 74-year wait for a men's winner at Wimbledon.
The world No. 4 meets Czech, Jan Hajek in the first round on Tuesday and will be keen to replicate the form he showed at the All England Club last year.
Murray missed out on the chance of a second major final after losing to Andy Roddick in the semis, and despite a recent slump in form his confidence is flying high.
"Last year was the first time I had a legitimate chance of winning the tournament, so it was good to have had that experience," Murray said. "When I played in the past, there's obviously pressure on you to do well, but not necessarily win the event. Now that's where I feel like I'm at, trying to win the tournament."
After reaching the Australian Open final in January, Murray has failed to progress past the quarter-final stage of any tournament, but the British No. 1 is confident he is making progress.
"The last few months have not been particularly good," he said. "But I think the improvements I made were shown at the Australian Open this year.
"You don't make improvements over two weeks. It does take time to put them into your game. I feel like I became a better player. I got stronger, started serving harder. More often I was hitting the ball harder more consistently and was playing better up at the net."
