Evans misses out on Roland Garros place
Great Britain's Dan Evans will not feature at Roland Garros later this month after he lost out in the first qualifying round for the French Open.
British No.2 Evans was beaten 6-2 6-1 by Portugal's Gastao Elias after an error-strewn performance in Paris. The 23-year-old was broken four times in the match by a player ranked 51 places below him.
Davis Cup team-mate James Ward is through to the second round of qualifying after he beat Radu Albot 6-3 7-5. He faces American Ryan Harrison next.
Dan Cox joins Ward in the second qualifying round after he blitzed Amir Weintraub 6-2 6-1 in 53 minutes on court. The pair are now two matches away from joining British No.1 Andy Murray in the main draw, which begins on May 25.
