Bloomfield finds Fish too strong

Richard Bloomfield's fine run in the Hall of Fame Championship came to an end with a 7-6(5) 6-4 defeat to Mardy Fish.
The British No. 12 went a long way to announcing himself on a big stage with a fine run to the semi-finals, but toppling the No. 5 seed proved a bridge too far.
Bloomfield did not disgrace himself, as there was only one break of serve in the entire match. The Brit showed excellent serve-volley technique in the first set and looked in no trouble as he took the opener to a tiebreak.
Chances were fashioned by Bloomfield, but he made errors on both his backhand and forehand volleys and Fish was able to edge the set.
The second stanza looked like following a similar path as both players were rock solid until Bloomfield imploded in the ninth game. He was 40-15 ahead when he served three double faults on the spin and he sent a volley over the baseline to hand Fish a break.
Fish did not pass up his chance as he served out to love to clinch his place in the final.
"It feels good, I love coming here and it is nice to play well," Fish said.
Fish will play No. 4 seed Olivier Rochus in the final after the Belgian eased to a 6-3 6-3 win over Brian Dabul.
