Former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt will be without a coach for the US Open after parting company with Nathan Healy after a year together.

Hewitt's manager David Drysdale confirmed the pair had called it a day because Healy wanted to spend time with his family. He insisted the split was amicable and that Hewitt would be unlikely to replace Healy before the end of the season.

"We'll sit down and have a look at it all over the next few months. We probably won't do anything before the end of the year," Drysdale told The Australian.

Hewitt, who won the US Open in 2001, has been seeded 32nd for the final Grand Slam of the year, which starts at Flushing Meadows on Monday.
