World No. 71 Pablo Cuevas continued his giant-killing run in Moscow as he stunned fifth seed Radek Stepanek to seal his place in the Kremlin Cup semi-finals.

Having seen off top seed Nikolay Davydenko on Thursday, the Uruguayan fired ten aces past the Czech as he reached his first ATP Tour semi-final for the first time in over a year with a 6-4 7-6(3) victory.

Cuevas stole a crucial advantage in the opening set and after a double exchange of breaks in the second clinched the match with a tiebreak to avenge his 6-0 6-4 defeat at the Pilot Pen in August.

Cuevas, who has not dropped a set this week, will now meet Serbia's Viktor Troicki after the world No. 43 eased past Horacio Zeballos 6-2 6-1. Troicki dropped just 11 points on serve to seal his place on the last four.

Marcos Baghdatis is the highest seed remaining in the competition and the Cypriot battled through to the semi-finals, where he will meet Denis Istomin, with a 6-2 7-6(7) win over Alexandr Dolgopolov.
