Viktor Troicki had to come from a set down claim the first title of his career at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow.

The world No. 43 showed impressive composure to claim his first ATP Tour title at the third attempt with a 3-6 6-4 6-3 victory over fourth seed Marcos Baghdatis. Having lost his previous two finals (Washington 2008, Bangkok 2009), Troicki made it third time lucky as he became the first non-Russian winner of the men's singles title since Taylor Dent in 2003.

Having upset third seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the second round, Troicki capped off an impressive week but was made to work hard after a slow start.

It was Baghdatis who got off to the better start, racing to a 3-0 lead and holding firm to close out the first set. But after an edgy second set, with Baghdatis one break away from victory, the Serb forced the match to a decider after a late break.

And Troicki carried the momentum into the final set, winning three straight games to move 4-1 up, and held his nerve to wrap up the match and his first title.

Troicki was clearly feeling the effects of his exploits as he failed to cap off a spectacular week in the doubles - he and partner Janko Tipsarevic fell 7-6(8) 6-3 to the Russian pairing of Dmitry Tursunov and Igor Kunitsyn.
