Becker yet to be approached by Murray for coaching role

Boris Becker has revealed there has been no approach from Andy Murray regarding a future coaching link-up between the pair.
Murray, who plays Roger Federer at the ATP World Tour Finals on Tuesday afternoon, has spent the past few months working without a regular head coach following his split with Miles Maclagan. The British No. 1 is in no rush to alter the situation, although he is expected to draft in a new man ahead of the 2011 season.
As a six-time grand slam singles champion, Becker is one of the few men recognised as having the necessary experience to guide Murray past the mental block of winning a first major tournament. The pair train at the same National Tennis Centre at Roehampton, but Becker insists there has been no approach from the world No. 5.
"I've not had any contact with Andy or any of his team and sitting down to talk to him has just not happened," Becker was quoted as saying by the Daily Express. "It's true I play there and see him, but there have been no discussions between us and no contact with his team, contrary to some suggestions."
Becker would not rule out a link-up with the Scot, but the German appears happy to await an advance from Murray.
"Although coaching is something I'd not rule out at a later date, there has been no association with Andy. We get on well with each other, and when we meet up we do talk tennis, but anything else is not on the agenda."
Former US Open finalist Greg Rusedski recently stated that Murray has to overcome a mental obstacle if he is to win a grand slam. Becker agrees with the assessment, but he does not see too much wrong with the way Murray is approaching tournaments.
"Maybe right now he gets a mental block in the slam events and doesn't play as well or as freely as we know he can. Why? I don't know," said Becker. "I'm not inside his team and don't know how he prepares. Clearly he is a very good player and he can get better. I don't think there is very much missing. He just has to put what he's got all together."
