Britain's Andy Murray looks set to play in next week's World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, shelving any plans of taking a break from tennis following his Australian Open defeat.

The Scot, who tasted defeat for the third time in a grand slam final when he lost in straight sets to Novak Djokovic in Melbourne on Sunday, will be the third seed in a hugely competitive field.

Murray's Australian Open conqueror, Djokovic, is likely to play and will start the competition as the No. 1 seed.

Murray will hope to atone for his disappointing display and may get the chance to gain revenge against the Serb, although fellow top-10 entrants Robin Soderling, Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer and Jurgen Melzer will be striving to prevent a potential showdown.

When Murray, who may also feature in the doubles with brother Jamie, faced the media after finishing as runner-up in Australia, the 23-year-old said he wasn't sure when he would return to the court.

He said: "I might not play for a few months, I might feel like playing in a week's time. It depends. I'll see how I feel."
