Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic has pulled out of next week's ABN Amro Tournament in Rotterdam with a shoulder injury.

According to tournament director Richard Krajicek, Djokovic is unable to train "let alone play high-level matches". The Serb is expected to be back on the practice courts next week.

Defending champion Robin Soderling will replace Djokovic as the top seed in Rotterdam. Andy Murray is expected to be in the draw after missing the event last year.

Following his Australian Open final defeat to Djokovic in Melbourne, Murray hinted he could take some time off, but he is yet to either confirm or deny his intentions to play in Netherlands.
