Andy Murray has fuelled speculation of a link-up with Ivan Lendl by severing his partnership with coaching consultant Alex Corretja.

Corretja has been involved with Murray on an ad hoc basis since April 2008, with the pair working more closely in recent months after the Scot split from full-time coach Miles Maclagan in July 2010.

"I've had a really good relationship with Alex over the past three years," Murray said. "I have learned so much from him and want to think him for his hard work, enthusiasm, dedication and support. He has been a great friend as well as a mentor to me and we've shared lots of success and good times both on and off the court."

Corretja formed a key member of Murray's support staff alongside Dani Vallverdu, who is set to travel with the British No. 1 more regularly this year in order to offer support in the continuing absence of a full-time mentor.

But Murray could be set to rethink his plans in the face of interest from Lendl, who is reportedly keen to aid his bid to turn around a foundering season. He made a promising start to 2011, reaching the final of the Australian Open, but has come off the rails of late, falling at the first hurdle in each of his last three tournaments.

A statement on Murray's website confirmed he is "reviewing his coaching options".
