Clijsters a serious French Open doubt

Kim Clijsters' injury woe has intensified after she suffered an ankle injury at a wedding, leaving her facing six weeks on the sidelines.
On her website the injuries were described as "a severe strain of both the medial and lateral ligaments of the right ankle and torn ligaments, a torn capsule of the ankle joint, a hematoma and torn tendon sheath", although no details were given on how she sustained the problem.
Clijsters was already set to miss a month in order to recover from shoulder and wrist injuries and, with this latest setback, she is a serious doubt for the French Open, which starts on May 17. She will also play no part in Belgium's Fed Cup semi-final against Czech Republic later this month.
Clijsters fell at the quarter-final stage at the Sony Ericsson Open in her last WTA Tour appearance, losing in straight sets to eventual winner Victoria Azarenka.
