Andy Murray is yet to decide whether to play in the Barcelona Open or opt to rest his elbow injury.

The world No. 4 played through the pain in his 6-2 2-6 6-1 defeat to Rafael Nadal in the Monte Carlo Masters semi-finals, and although the Scot travelled to Barcelona on Sunday, he will await further medical tests before committing to the event.

"Certainly I'll have an MRI scan," Murray said after his defeat to Nadal. "You sometimes get like a bit of bone basically that has fallen off. It sounds worse than it is, but it's basically floating around in the joint.

"So every time I bend it, I get of a lot of, like, clicking. It just feels really bruised because I obviously had a couple of injections. There's blood and stuff going in there."

Murray battled back from a set down to force the match to a deciding set against Nadal, but appeared to be in some discomfort before losing the final set.

"When you do have an injury, it's sometimes difficult to concentrate," Murray said. "Against someone like him, you need to play every single point, concentrate from every single point to the last. You can't just throw games, hope to hang onto your serve. You need to play every single point to put pressure on him."
