Murray sure elbow injury is 'nothing serious'
Andy Murray is confident he will play at this week's Barcelona Open, despite the elbow injury that affected his Monte Carlo Masters challenge.
Murray sparked fears that he would pull out of his Monte Carlo semi-final with Rafael Nadal due to the aggravated elbow, but he ended up forcing the world No. 1 to three sets.
Nevertheless, the injury was visibly bothering Murray during the match, and he revealed he would have an MRI scan on Tuesday prior to his first-round encounter in Barcelona on Wednesday. The British No. 1 speculated that he may need a piece of floating bone removed, but now he appears more confident over his chances of a quick recovery.
"I'm optimistic," Murray said in The Guardian. "I've never had an injury of this type and in Monte Carlo I could play despite the pain.
"I don't want to speculate too much because I could be wrong, but I am sure it's an inflammation. It's nothing serious, but I just want to wait for the doctor."
