Lopez books Roddick clash as Ward wins at Queen's

Feliciano Lopez set up a second-round encounter against four-time champion Andy Roddick after he overpowered Dmitry Tursunov in straight sets at the AEGON Championships.
Lopez ended Rafael Nadal's 24-match unbeaten streak in last year's quarter-finals, and will be hoping to produce another upset this year. The Spaniard fired 18 aces as he opened his grass court campaign with a 7-6(4) 6-3 victory.
British No. 2 James Ward triumphed in an all-British battle against Daniel Cox to earn a meeting with fourth seed Stanislas Wawrinka, while American Sam Querrey kicked off the defence of his title as he powered past Kei Nishikori 6-3 6-4.
Nicolas Mahut beat wildcard Oliver Golding 6-3 6-4 to deny the British youngster a second-round clash against seventh seed Fernando Verdasco.
Also through on a rain-hit first day in West London is Thomaz Bellucci, who had to dig deep to beat Bulgarian youngster Grigor Dimitrov 3-6 7-6(8) 6-2, while French duo Michael Llodra and Arnaud Clement also progressed.
At the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Philipp Kohlschreiber needed all three sets to avoid an upset at the hands of world No. 210 Cedrik-Marcel Stebe with a 6-4 3-6 6-1 victory.
Also through to the second round is Yen-Hsun Lu, who was responsible for the scalp of Roddick at Wimbledon last year. Lu, ranked No. 53 in the world, didn't face a single break point as he beat Jarkko Nieminen 7-6(2) 6-3.
