World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki says she has no regrets about preparing for Wimbledon on hard courts, while insisting her next goal is to win a grand slam.

The 20-year-old won the 17th title of her senior career as she retained the Copenhagen Open crown at home in Denmark on Sunday. Despite picking up her fifth title of the year, many believe the Dane will rue her decision to delay her switch to the grass.

Wozniacki, however, is adamant she will have had enough time to acclimatise to the different surface by the time Wimbledon begins on June 20.

"It's good preparation because for me going from clay to hard court, which is in-between clay and grass, I can make the transition smoothly. I'll be there [in England] a week early so I'll have plenty of time to be ready for Wimbledon.

Wozniacki tops the WTA Tour rankings but is still searching for her first major. Despite critics beginning to question whether she has the mental strength required to land a slam, the youngster insists she will break her duck at some stage.

"Obviously I would like to win a Grand Slam and that's my next goal," she told Sky Sports. "I think it is more important for the media so they have something to write about but for me, personally, I'm 20-years-old so I still have plenty of time.

"It's always been a dream for me to reach No 1 [in the world] and if you ask small kids that have just started tennis what are their dreams - it is to be No1 and no-one can take that away from you. The ideal would be No 1 with a Grand Slam; my time will come."

Wozniacki, a former junior champion at SW19 who has never made it past the fourth round in the main draw, is relishing another tilt at a Wimbledon title.

"Wimbledon has always been something special to me. It was the first tournament that I ever watched on TV," she said. "It's on grass, it has all the long traditions. Obviously it is a tournament I would really love to win but any Grand Slam win would be great for me!

"The atmosphere is completely different than at other Grand Slams. It is more quiet but you see the grass, everyone is wearing white, you have the strawberries, the cream and people drinking champagne. It's different; it is something special."
