Daniel Ricciardo says his focus while driving for Toro Rosso is not to impress potential future employers.

With Mark Webber's future at Red Bull looing uncertain, Ricciardo's impressive early-season form has been well timed should Red Bull look to promote one of the Toro Rosso drivers next year. Ricciardo, however, says his motivation is just to score good results and that he's not actively looking at which teams might be impressed with his progress.

"I wouldn't say so," Ricciardo told Sky Sports News. "For me I'm obviously happy getting the best results I can so I'm not going to get the results only because it's going to impress people, I'm going to get them because I want them. I figured if I do all the things correctly that I know how to do then hopefully something will turn up. I'll keep focusing on myself, focusing on the job I've got to do and I think if I can tick all the boxes it might make life easier for myself."

Having scored points in two of the last three races - including seventh in China - Ricciardo said his aim was to score solid points again this weekend.

"Definitely, it's a place I've really enjoyed. I've come here for three years now - twice with World Series and once with F1 last year - so it's a place that I'm starting to understand now and I've enjoyed it since the first lap I drove around here back in 2010. So I'd like to think I have good confidence here but I discovered last year that everyone seems to be pretty quick around here. I'm confident that I can get a bit more out of myself this year here and definitely points - not one point but a few points - is on the agenda."
