Toro Rosso has appointed Luca Furbatto and Jon Tomlinson in a bid to bolster its technical team.

Furbatto has joined the design office in Faenza after 11 years at McLaren where he most recently worked as assistant project leader on the MP4-26. At the start of April Furbatto will become chief designer reporting to technical director Giorgio Ascanelli. He will replace Ben Butler who is set to return to the senior Red Bull team.

Tomlinson comes to the team from Williams where he has been head of aerodynamics since 2007 and will work at Toro Rosso's wind tunnel in Bicester as deputy head of aerodynamics. He will report to head of aerodynamics Nicolo Petrucci.
