BJ Penn turned up the heat on Nate Marquardt on Thursday, by telling the axed UFC star to prove he is clean if he wants to fight the Prodigy.

Penn was one of the most vocal critics of Testosterone Replacement Therapy following Marquardt's explanation for failing a pre-fight medical. Penn labelled TRT "bulls**t", insisting there was no place for drugs in MMA.

Marquardt, who was cleared to fight again by the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission, has promised to hunt down all those who "kicked him whilst down", naming Penn as one of the chief "bullies". Marquardt said he would beat up whoever wanted to face him, even if it was away from the public eye at his gym.

"I'll show up to your gym to fight if you do a drugs test every week for three months," Penn tweeted.

Marquardt fired back: "How about I give you my most recent [test] and another one now showing its low and I still mop the floor with your midget head."

"What a joke! One drug test?" replied Penn. "You should be tested every week for three months... and then we'll fight. I have no doubt I will beat you if you come natural like I have been doing my entire career."
