Rashad vows to 'smash' Ortiz at UFC 133

Rashad Evans thanked Tito Ortiz for agreeing to fight him at UFC 133, and then declared, "I'm going to smash him".
Evans was originally supposed to meet Phil Davis on August 6, but the UFC was forced into a reshuffle of its main event when Davis damaged his knee. Ortiz eventually stepped up, preventing a potential scenario where Evans could have been removed from the card.
"I appreciate him taking the fight, but I'm going to smash him," Evans told MMA Fighting. "I've been training so long, I just want to fight somebody."
Evans could not stop himself sounding a little patronising, however, of his next opponent, who recently ended a five-year wait for a win against Ryan Bader. The Huntington Beach Bad Boy had previously gone five fights without a victory.
Suga Rashad has history with Ortiz after the pair drew back in 2007, but he admits he was genuinely delighted to see the former light-heavyweight champion taste success once more.
"It was like, 'There you go!'" said Evans. "I just wanted to see him win a fight. I hadn't seen him do it for so long. Sometimes, it's good just to be happy for somebody.
"I don't think nobody was more surprised than Tito. Tito was over the moon about it, he was so surprised he won a fight."
