An intriguing change has been made to the UFC 133 card, with Matt Hamill stepping in to face highly-rated Swedish star Alexander Gustafsson.

The UFC fired out fights like a machine gun unloads bullets on Thursday night, with Cheick Kongo v Matt Mitrione and Mirko Cro Cop v Roy Nelson confirmed for UFC 137. Also announced were two UFC 136 bouts, involving Dave Herman v Mike Russow and Josh Grispi v Matt Grice.

Hamill's addition to UFC 133 comes at the expense of Vladimir Matyushenko, who is forced off the card due to injury. Ironically, Matyushenko had been one of the light-heavyweights considered as replacement for Phil Davis in the main event, which is now headlined by Tito Ortiz v Rashad Evans.

Hamill gets the chance to move back into the winners' circle following defeat to Rampage Jackson. He faces another hard-hitter in Gustafsson, who is coming off a submission win over James Te Huna.

Gustaffson will be expected to rely upon his striking to see off Hamill, but the Hammer is likely to boast an advantage in the wrestling department in what is an interesting match-up in the 205lb division.
