Tearful Tito Ortiz OK to fight at UFC 133 after car crash

Tito Ortiz will still fight at UFC 133 this weekend, despite suffering a car crash.

Ortiz is scheduled to headline the August 6 card against Rashad Evans, in a collision that would propel him extremely close to a light-heavyweight title shot. Evans had initially been set to face Phil Davis, but Ortiz stepped in when Davis pulled out through injury.

That particularly withdrawal was just one of many on a cursed UFC 133 card, which has also seen Antonio Rogerio Nogueira v Rich Franklin scrapped. Nogueira suffered a shoulder injury.

The latest injury was suffered by Alessio Sakara ahead of his match-up with Jorge Rivera, forcing more reshuffling by the UFC. Rivera now fights Constantinos Philippou.

Ortiz raised fears of a further pull-out when he crashed his Rolls Royce Phantom in a three-car collision. Pictures of the smashed front end of his car have been posted, but Ortiz walked away without injury.

The Huntington Beach Bad Boy tweeted about the accident, saying: "I cried a little because it's my favourite car but it will be new in no time."
