Yves Edwards and Rafaello Oliveira have both been given chances to bounce back by the UFC after they were pitted against each other at UFC Live.

The lightweight duo will square off on October 1, knowing defeat would leave either man's future in jeopardy. Edwards is coming off a loss to Sam Stout while Oliveira was beaten by Gleison Tibau last time out.

Edwards' defeat will go down as one of the most memorable of the year after Stout produced a highlight reel knockout at UFC 131. The fight-ending punch left Edwards grounded for several minutes and is an image that will continue to haunt him.

Oliveira's loss came by submission against Tibau, who locked on a rear naked choke at UFC 130. The Brazilian has now lost three of four UFC bouts.

UFC Live in Washington is headlined by Dominick Cruz's bantamweight title defence against Demetrious Johnson.
