Aldo likely to fight Mendes or Edgar next - White

Jose Aldo's next challenge at featherweight will either be Chad Mendes or Frankie Edgar, according to UFC president Dana White.
Aldo remained undefeated in the last six years with a unanimous decision victory over Kenny Florian at UFC 136, producing another display of world class striking allied to a strong takedown defence. The Brazilian has won his last 13 fights, and at the age of 25 is only getting better.
However, Aldo has had problems cutting weight for the 145lbs limit in the past, and the suggestion was put to White that the champion could step up to lightweight. It was also suggested that Aldo has cleared out the featherweight division, something to which White strongly disagreed.
"No way. That's why when they talk about him being top-three pound-for-pound, he's got a lot of work to do," White replied.
"Same thing with Jon Jones too. Jones is looking good. Jones destroyed Shogun [Rua], he destroyed Rampage [Jackson], he looks phenomenal. But he's got a lot of work to do in that weight division."
Asked what would be Aldo's next assignment, White confessed 11-0 Mendes is a serious option. However, the president wants lightweight champion Edgar to drop down a division, and he hinted that could become Aldo's next fight.
"Pretty sure," White answered, when asked if Mendes was next. "We'll see, though. Anything's possible. Maybe Frankie calls me and says he wants to move to '45. I don't know. We'll see what happens."
