Penn open to third St-Pierre collision

BJ Penn has confirmed he would willingly accept another clash with Georges St-Pierre, if UFC president Dana White felt he was worthy of a title shot.

Penn takes on Nick Diaz at UFC 137 this weekend, and he knows the Strikeforce champion was originally supposed to be fighting St-Pierre before he blew his opportunity with a lack of professionalism.

By numbers, that should mean that a victory for Penn over No. 1 title contender Diaz should earn him his own welterweight title shot.

However, Penn has lost to St-Pierre twice before, the most recent of which saw him quit after being dominated for four rounds. Few believe a rematch would go any differently, but Penn insists he would still fancy himself against GSP if White saw fit to give the Prodigy another title attempt.

"If Dana feels I'm impressive in my next fight and he wants to grant me that opportunity, I'd be very gracious with that offer," Penn, the former two-weight champion, said.

"I'd love to get another shot at the welterweight title one more time, or if possible, maybe get the lightweight one more time. But I'm not going to sit there and dwell on it.

"One day, you're fighting for the title. One day, you're not. It would be great to get another title, but I just want to keep moving forward."
