Donald Cerrone says he is moving down to 145lbs for his next fight so he can take on Nam Phan, and has vowed to make him pay for aiming a swipe at his coaching staff.

Cerrone takes on Dennis Siver at UFC 137 on Saturday, the pair clashing at lightweight in Las Vegas. However, Cerrone is already looking ahead to a potential match-up with Phan, citing derogatory comments made by the American as the reason he wants to drop down a weight class.

"It's not because he beat Leonard [Garcia, Cerrone's friend and training partner], just his comments saying our coaching staff aren't working correctly, we're not doing things we need to do and he just needs to watch what he says," he told MMAWeekly.

"I'm going to show him exactly what our training consists off. Careful what you wish for Nam Phan."

Should he find a way past Phan, Cerrone says he would relish a fight with UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo - although he admits he could struggle to consistently make the weight.

"Jose Aldo, he's a stud, and I would be honored to be in there to throw down with him," he said. "I haven't seen anyone get in there and really fight Jose. He's got great leg kicks and great strikes, I think it'd be a fun fight.

"It [dropping down a weight] would be a lifestyle change," Cerrone told MMAJunkie. "I eat a lot of candy. I can't survive without candy. Milk Duds and Hot Tamales are what I love. I'm going to have to be very strict.

"It's going to be a son of a bitch, but I'm going to do it - and I'm going to be pissed off when I'm doing it."
