Brad Pickett is desperate to return to the Octagon "straight away" following his loss to Renan Barao at UFC 138, admitting: "I cheated myself and everyone else."

Pickett entered into a war with Barao in the bantamweight division, earning Fight of the Night honours for four minutes of action. He lost to a rear naked choke after being dropped by a knee.

The frustration was clear on Pickett's face at the end of the contest, despite the Brit making an instant impact on the UFC with his go-forward, stand-and-trade style.

After a back injury delayed his UFC debut - scheduled to be against Miguel Torres, Pickett now wants to make up for lost time, and he wants to erase the memory of his defeat to Barao as soon as possible.

"I feel like I cheated myself, let alone everyone else," Pickett told ESPN. "I'd fight straight away. I'm in crazy-good shape, that's why I'm gutted. I didn't feel tired and I was throwing bombs for four minutes.

"Nine times out of 10, no disrespect to him, I would win that fight. I just got caught today. He beat me fair and square.

"I hear there's a card in Sweden. I want to get on that."
