Dustin Poirier's rapidly growing reputation will get the chance to be boosted further after he was paired with Erik Koch at UFC 143.

Poirier was outstanding during Saturday's event in Anaheim, submitting Pablo Garca with a D'Arce choke in the second round. His record now stands at an impressive 11-1.

At 22 years of age Poirier is already one of the world's top five featherweights, and clearly his four-fight win streak has registered with the UFC.

He will now be thrown back into action on Super Bowl weekend against Koch (13-1), himself a bright prospect at the age of 23. The winner could well find himself in contention for a shot at the champion, after Dominick Cruz has met the winner of Urijah Faber and Brian Bowles who fight this weekend.

UFC 143 is headlined by Georges St-Pierre's welterweight title collision with Nick Diaz, and also features Carlos Condit v Josh Koscheck.
