Dos Santos is lying about his injury - Sonnen
Chael Sonnen has accused Junior Dos Santos of lying about the knee injury he reportedly had in his heavyweight title win over Cain Velasquez.
Sonnen was appearing on ESPN's MMA Live, just hours after videos had emerged of a TV interview he conducted on Canadian station TSN, where he eventually stormed off camera.
The middleweight was asked his opinion on Dos Santos, who wiped out former champion Velasquez in 64 seconds. Dos Santos later claimed he was on crutches just days before the fight due to a torn meniscus in his knee, a situation Sonnen claims is not possible.
"Biggest story coming out of this night, I'm not going to let us move on until we talk about this - Junior dos Santos saying he's got a knee injury," Sonnen said.
"Look, if that's marketing, fine. If he legitimately had an injury, this is the biggest story to come out of that night because that is a violation against the Athletic Commission.
"He signs, under penalty of perjury, a letter stating that he is not hiding any ailment. At best, that's a fine, at worst that's a suspension. I think it's marketing. I think he's lying to the media, and that's fine. If he lies to the government, big problems."
