Cheick Kongo has confirmed that his next test will be Mark Hunt at UFC 144 in Japan.

The heavyweight bout was mooted last week, but no official confirmation was forthcoming. Now Kongo has revealed the fight is rubber-stamped for February 26.

"Yes it's official now, I'm gonna fight Mark Hunt at @UFC 144 in Japan," Kongo tweeted. "This will be my first time in Japan so I'm very excited and proud to be a part of it, especially now that my bro [Rampage Jackson] is going to fight there too! Have a nice weekend, y'all!"

Kongo is coming off a superb victory over Matt Mitrione, when he stayed patient to earn a decision victory to add to his previous win over Pat Barry.

Hunt, meanwhile, is 2-0 from his last two, having beaten Ben Rothwell last time out.

UFC 144 is headlined by Frankie Edgar's lightweight title defence against Ben Henderson. Also on the card, Rampage Jackson will fight Ryan Bader.
