White hits back over Anderson Silva 'faking' jibes

UFC president Dana White has fired back at Chael Sonnen, insisting it is impossible for fighters to fake injury.

Sonnen accused middleweight champion Anderson Silva of ducking fights with both he and Dan Henderson. Sonnen claimed Silva had been caught sparring on camera, despite being sidelined by a shoulder problem.

Henderson has also hinted that the champion is taking the easy road, claiming Silva would "heal up fast" if Michael Bisping was offered to him.

President White knows Sonnen's comments were almost certainly tongue-in-cheek, but he also knows the need to put out fires before they begin to gather fuel.

"First of all, just to clear this up, and these guys - Dan Henderson knows it, Chael knows it, and every other fighter that fights in the UFC knows it - you can't fake an injury," White told MMAjunkie.com

"It's impossible to do. You can't do it.

"When you say you are injured, we bring you to our doctors, and they check you out, and we find out if you're injured or not injured."
