Georges St-Pierre will face Dan Hardy at UFC 111

UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has paid Dan Hardy a huge compliment by labelling him "the most dangerous guy I've ever fought".

St-Pierre was responding to the suggestion that he has had to self-promote his UFC 111 title defence against Hardy, a fight that sees GSP start as a 1/8 favourite according to bookmakers Stan James. The reigning champion has won his last six fights and is unofficially recognised as one of the top two fighters in the UFC.

GSP categorically denies that he needs any added motivation or promotion to hype the March 27 bout, and he points to the fact that he has waited until now in order to reveal exactly how highly he rates Hardy.

"A lot of people underestimate Dan Hardy and it's a big mistake," stated St-Pierre, who has beaten BJ Penn, Matt Hughes and Thiago Alves during his career.

"It's a big mistake that I'm not going to make. Dan Hardy is the most dangerous guy that I've fought so far. He is very well-rounded and he's a very smart fighter. He's a thinking fighter.

"He's a guy that is very technical in the way he fights. He's a great counter-puncher and he's a thinking fighter too. These types of guys are the most dangerous guys and he is surrounded by a great team, so the worst thing that I can do for this fight is underestimate him."
