Junior Dos Santos has revealed that Brock Lesnar warned him of Alistair Overeem's power in the immediate aftermath to UFC 141's main event.

Dos Santos was present for Overeem's successful UFC debut, entering the Octagon after Lesnar had been stopped inside the first round. Overeem will now get to challenge for the Brazilian's heavyweight title in 2012.

On paper, the pair will put on a hugely intriguing stand-up battle, with Dos Santos' outstanding boxing coming up against Overeem's seasoned kickboxing base.

Clearly Dos Santos was intrigued to know what Lesnar thought of Overeem after he had eaten a series of knees before being finished by a kick to the body. And the former champion confessed the Reem's power needs to be respected.

"He told me in the Octagon he felt the knees and kicks of Overeem and that he thought he broke his rib. I saw it and it was really red," Dos Santos told Tatame.

"He told me the last couple [kicks] destabilized him. And then he wished me good luck on this title defence and that was it.

"Each fight is different and you've got to be prepared for your next opponent the best way you can. I got to the title with much effort and I'll do my best to remain as the champion. Overeem is a very strong fighter, but there's no easy fight when you're fighting a title fight."
