Nick Diaz is not on the road to being cut by the UFC, but he does need to "get it together", according to Lorenzo Fertitta.

Diaz tested positive for marijuana after his UFC 143 battle with Carlos Condit, prompting a complaint to be filed by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

The future did not look rosy for Diaz when UFC president Dana White issued a brief statement on the fighter, revealing he is "beyond disappointed" with the positive test.

However, Fertitta conducted a Q&A on Twitter on Friday, during which he stated his admiration for the way Diaz fights. As a result, it appears the Stockton star still has a future with the UFC.

"[I] really like the kid [he] just needs to get it together," Fertitta tweeted. "I'm a sap for real fighters."

Diaz stands to discover what sanction is coming his way from the Nevada Athletic Commission in April.
