Pickett keeping an eye on Torres v McDonald fight

Brad Pickett is taking nothing for granted ahead of his next fight with Damacio Page, but the Brit admits it is human nature for him to take an interest in Miguel Torres' UFC 145 clash with Michael McDonald, a bout that could provide Pickett's next rival.
Pickett, who lost on UFC debut to Renan Barao, had originally been scheduled to fight Torres before a back injury ruled the Briton out. Torres remains an opponent that the American Top Team fighter would love to face, although Pickett insists he is not calling anybody out.
First of all he is fully focusing on the challenge that Page presents on April 14 in Sweden, after which he will see how former WEC champion Torres performs against talented up-and-comer McDonald. Speaking openly, Pickett admits he would love to fight either man, but only once he takes care of his own business.
"I look at all fights in my weight class, that's my job," Pickett explained to ESPN. "This is a good fight, they're evenly matched but I think Miguel's the better fighter.
"I would fight either of those. It's not me calling them out, I know I need to win my next fight first. Damacio Page is the be-all and end-all.
"But Torres and McDonald fight two weeks after me, so if you call me after the fight I'll give my thoughts then!"
Pickett is one of many UFC stars to be attending The MMA Show Live on May 12/13 at the NEC in Birmingham, a ground-breaking event featuring more top level MMA fighters than any other show of its kind in Europe. The interactive expo expects 30,000 fans across the whole weekend.
