Alexander Gustafsson confessed he would accept a UFC light-heavyweight title fight without hesitation if offered it by the UFC, following his excellent victory over Thiago Silva in the UFC on Fuel 2 main event.

Gustafsson impressed in front of his home fans, peppering his target for a unanimous decision victory. Showing fluidity in his hands and excellent footwork the Swede is now moving towards the top five in the 205lb division.

Reigning champion Jon Jones fights Rashad Evans next week, and if he comes through that it is likely he will meet Dan Henderson. However, it is Gustafsson who boasts a similar height and reach to Jones, and therefore would ask the champ new questions.

For now the Swede is happy to celebrate the biggest win of his career against Silva, but he admits he would jump at the chance of fighting Jones.

"It is amazing to win in front of my home country. It's my first decision, which is new for me, but I'm still learning and progressing and this was an important experience. This is a dream come true," Gustafsson said.

"I [executed] my game plan, but I'm a finisher.

"I want to fight the top five guys in the world in my division, but if [the UFC] were to give me a title shot, I would be more than ready if that day comes."

Silva, who was well beaten on his first outing in over a year, merely commented: "I didn't have the performance I would have liked but I gave it my best."
