Jon Jones is not genuine - Henderson

Dan Henderson has uttered the one word that might get UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones angry, claiming the youngster is not liked by sections of the MMA fanbase because he is fake.

Henderson is next up for Jones after the champion beat Rashad Evans at the weekend. Victory over the veteran would see Jones chalk up a fourth successful defence of his title - moving level with Chuck Liddell.

However, while the Iceman was loved worldwide, Jones continues to have what he calls "haters". Henderson was asked for his theory on why such a spectacular fighter is not proving the most popular champion in UFC history, and the veteran attacked the same personality trait that Evans and Rampage Jackson have previously highlighted.

"I think it all has to do with being genuine and the fans sense that: when you are and when you're not," Henderson told MMA Fighting. "I'm pretty much who I am all the time and I don't know if they get that impression from him.

"His whole attitude sometimes. It's not completely not genuine. I think that's what the fans are turned off by.

"I don't know him personally, so I can't really say if it's genuine or not. It's just the impression that I think fans get."

Henderson was then pressed on his own opinion of Jones, and the quietly-spoken veteran was less than glowing in his praise. Asked if he thinks Jones is genuine, Henderson replied: "Not really.

"I think he was a little bit better after his fight with Rashad than he had been in the past, but I haven't got that impression from him, no."
