Rousimar Palhares smiled a chilling smile when he addressed the media ahead of Saturday's fight with Alan Belcher, confidently stating: "I've got him worried".

Palhares is one of the most feared men on the UFC roster. Armed with vicious submissions, the Brazilian has left multiple opponents unable to walk out of the Octagon as they entered it.

Known for his footlocks, Palhares does not just submit his rivals, he actively ensures that he snaps on his holds so tight that it sends out a message to future rivals.

That message has clearly been heeded by Belcher, who claimed earlier in the week that he is well prepared for the threat of Palhares. Belcher said he won't allow Toquinho to get his hands on him, but such a bold claim simply pleased Palhares.

"When they start talking a lot, I think that's because they're worried," Palhares said through a translator.

He was then informed that Belcher was so confident heading into the fight that he has suggested he will be happy to hit the mat with Palhares. "No problem at all," the Brazilian smiled in reply.

Saturday's middleweight match-up pairs two men on three-fight win streaks. The winner can expect to move into title contention.
