Dan Henderson believes he can spring a surprise and defeat UFC champion Jon Jones when the two light heavyweights meet inside the Octagon at UFC 151.

Henderson is the next fighter to come up against the dominant Jones, with few pundits giving him much of a chance of victory. Indeed, so dismissive of the challenge Henderson will pose the champion have some been that many have chosen to focus instead on who Jones might face next - although Henderson insists he doesn't feel disrespected by that.

"I'm sure I've been overlooked and it doesn't bother me, and I don't mind at all. I know that I have a date to fight him and I'm going to make the best of it," Henderson told MMA Weekly.

Jones is considered to be one of the most complete all-round fighters in the UFC, the prototype for the modern mixed martial artist, but Henderson is confident he has weaknesses like any other fighter.

"There's a number of things that I think I can capitalise on, but again it's a matter of me making sure I stick to my game plan and fighting my fight," Henderson noted. "I would definitely like for him to come out and try to knock me out, because I wouldn't have to chase him around that way, but I'm pretty sure he's going to come out and try to take me down. He's going to want to try and put me on my back, try to get me tired doing that.

"Maybe he can take a pretty good punch, maybe he bounces back after getting beat up for a little while, who knows. I'm definitely planning on seeing what he really is made of."
