Aldo-Edgar superfight re-arranged for February
The fight, originally scheduled for UFC 153 in Rio de Janeiro before Aldo was forced to withdraw due to injury, will take place in Las Vegas, as the marquee fight of the UFC's traditional Super Bowl weekend card.
"I'm pumped," UFC president Dana White told USA Today when the bout was first made in August. "I think that people are going to be very excited for this fight.
"This is not only a world title fight but also a superfight that has long been a dream match for many fans. Aldo and Edgar are two fantastic fighters who are always a part of the pound-for-pound debate."
Aldo is currently on a 14-fight winning streak, winning twice in 2011 to cement his place at the top of the featherweight division.
Edgar, meanwhile, is looking to snap a two-fight losing streak - coming down from lightweight after losing his crown to Ben Henderson at UFC 144, before also being overcome in the rematch in August.
