Edson Barboza has revealed he has been training with Frankie Edgar to help the former UFC lightweight champion sharpen up for his title fight with Jose Aldo.

Edgar, who has dropped to 145 pounds for a shot at the featherweight title, has been working with the talented Brazilian striker ahead of his title clash at UFC 156 in Las Vegas next month.

Barboza, who surrendered his unbeaten record at the hands of Jamie Varner at UFC 146 in May last year, will also be hoping Edgar's experience can help him return to winning ways when he takes on Lucas Martins at UFC on FX 7 on January 19.

"I train with him every day," Barboza told MMAWeekly Radio. "Every day he picks me up at my house for training.

"Training in the morning, training in the afternoon, training at night, helping me with everything. He's helped me; I've helped him. We've stuck together.

"He's the champ, he's been the champ for a long time, that's a big difference. Now I know I have good training partners and good coaches. Frankie he won the last fight with Ben Henderson, he's the best."
