Tongue-in-cheek Silva keeps Jones talk bubbling

Anderson Silva created more buzz for a potential Jon Jones superfight over the weekend, telling Dana White he will fight the UFC light-heavyweight champion... for half of the company.

Silva has been asked relentlessly about his thoughts on a showdown with Jones, which would surely be the biggest bout ever put on by the promotion. Neither man wants to fight one another, but the pressure from UFC officials and fans is growing.

President White has always maintained that he could offer the type of money that would turn both heads, and in recent times both Silva and Jones have warmed slightly to the bout.

However, Silva appears to be heading for a different superfight in the shape of Georges St-Pierre - if St-Pierre gets past Carlos Condit at UFC 154, so he decided to have a little fun when quizzed about Jones in his latest interview.

"The question [about facing Jones] would have to be made to Dana White," Silva told UAE TV via Tatame. "Let's ask if he'll give me 50% of the UFC. If he will, maybe this fight will happen."

The request by Silva is by no means a serious one, but it does have the effect of putting the ball back in the UFC's court. If White wants to make Silva v Jones, how much would he be prepared to offer?

Only then will the fighters in question be able to start tangibly discussing a potential showdown.
