Erick Silva heading for stacked UFC 156 card
Erick Silva, one of the most promising welterweights in the UFC, is awaiting his next opponent after his manager revealed the Brazilian will fight at UFC 156.
Silva is looking to bounce off a loss to Jon Fitch, a fight in which he displayed both his talent and naivety. Fitch fought off a serious rear naked choke attempt before claiming a decision win against the gassed Silva.
Now it appears that an already stacked UFC 156 card is set to have another star added to it. The February 2 event is headlined by Jose Aldo v Frankie Edgar and also features Dan Henderson v Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans v Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
The addition of Silva would make it a seriously talent-saturated card, and the Brazilian revealed he is merely awaiting an opponent.
"I have no idea who my opponent will be; I don't choose them," Silva told MMAjunkie. "I expect to know who it is in a few weeks and then to start working even harder. But I believe at some point of my career I'll have the rematch against Fitch."
Silva's manager, Wallid Ismail, revealed earlier in November that his man will fight on Super Bowl weekend, unless the UFC changes its current plan.
