Stefan Struve and Cheick Kongo appear to be cutting out the middle man and playing their own game of matchmaking, organising a UFC 156 fight over Twitter.

The heavyweight bout is without UFC confirmation and therefore remains unofficial, but the pair appear keen to book a slot on what is already a loaded card on Super Bowl weekend.

"Sounds good to me!" Struve said on Twitter. "What do you think Cheick?!"

Kongo then replied: "It would be very exciting for the fans and a great challenge for both of us. UFC 156 Let's do it!"

Struve had the final word, saying: "I'm in! Great fight for sure. Let's see if they got a spot left for us then!"

Dutchman Struve is on the rise after his stoppage of Stipe Miocic in Nottingham, while Kongo has been out of action since his victory over Shawn Jordan.
