Gray Maynard will be watching the UFC 156 main event with interest this weekend, insisting he is coming after Frankie Edgar for part four in their rivalry.

Edgar has sights firmly set on the UFC featherweight title on Saturday when he meets champion Jose Aldo. Also on the card, Rashad Evans meet Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Alistair Overeem takes on Antonio Silva.

The championship bout between Aldo and Edgar will be the latter's first dip into the 145lb ocean, having previously ruled for a period at lightweight. Edgar won and then defended the 155lb belt against BJ Penn, before drawing and then beating Maynard in his next two fights.

On both occasions Maynard dished out a hammering to Edgar in the early rounds before fading late in the contest, and their record now stands at one win, one draw and one loss after three encounters. Maynard insists the rivalry needs to be settled.

"It's a goal of mine to have that Edgar fight again," he told ESPN. "I want a part four. I think people want a closure to that.

"We're 1-1-1 so I'm looking forward to having that fight again."

Maynard was supposed to fight Joe Lauzon at UFC 155 but was forced to pull out as a result of an accumulation of injuries, specifically to his knee and hamstring areas. He expects to return in the Spring period, but has no desire to tell the UFC who he wants next.

"I'm gonna heal up first because it's hard to call out people when you're injured!" the American said.
