Brown: Mein more dangerous than Hardy

Matt Brown expects Jordan Mein to prove a more dangerous rival than Dan Hardy this weekend when the pair meet at UFC on Fox in San Jose, California.

Brown had been scheduled to meet Hardy on Saturday but a heart condition sidelined the Brit, potentially forcing him into premature retirement.

In his place stands Mein, who recently made a huge impact on UFC debut when becoming the first man to stop Dan Miller.

Brown is in fine form himself, winning his last four bouts to put his name as close as it has ever been to title contention. A win over Mein would make his case for a top-ten spot increasingly difficult to ignore, but he is expecting a tough battle this weekend.

"I see him (Mein) as more dangerous than Dan Hardy in the sense that, for one, he's more unpredictable. I don't know as much about him," Brown told MMA's Great Debate Radio.

"I can get probably 15 or 20 fights on Dan Hardy right now if I wanted them. With Jordan Mein I'm looking at maybe three or four fights.

"Jordan, he's an up-and-comer whereas Dan Hardy's talking about retirement. You've got a guy that's ultra hungry and probably trying to make a run for the title. Where Dan Hardy has probably accepted that he's not going to be in the title picture and he's moved on in his career.

"So, those are two completely different mentalities that you're dealing with. It's not taking anything away from Dan Hardy, it's just a different mentality."
