Bisping and Belcher nearly come to blows at the weigh-in

Jon Jones was strongly booed by a heavily pro-Chael Sonnen crowd as the pair made weight for the UFC 159 main event on Friday.

Jones bids for a record-equalling fifth successful light-heavyweight title defence when he meets Sonnen in the night's main event. Also on the card, England's Michael Bisping looks to get back into contention at middleweight against Alan Belcher.

Sonnen was the first of the two main event competitors to step on stage at the Prudential Center, roared on before lifting his arms slowly and confidently to acknowledge a reading of 205lbs.

Then came Jones, booed, jeered and heckled. The champion stayed calm, tipped the scale at 205 and then refused to look Sonnen in the eye as he pushed his head into the challenger's face.

Bisping was equally box-office, prompting Belcher to shove him as the pair squared off. The middleweight duo have long had a history, and Bisping stepped off the scale at 186lbs before immediately winding his rival up to the point that Belcher pushed back.

It looked like mission accomplished for Bisping, who laughed towards the crowd as Belcher left the stage.
